Counseling and Hypnosis

Hello and welcome! First, let me tell you a bit about myself: I am an independently licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC), a trained hypnotherapist, and a member of the American Counseling Association. I earned my master’s degree in counseling at Bowling Green State University and  received my hypnotherapy training at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Tempe, Arizona where I also studied mind/body psychology.

I started my career in mental health in 1999 at Behavioral Connections of Wood County as a residential support specialist working with adults with severe mental illness. Following that I worked at Firelands Counseling and Recovery Services of Sandusky County  providing mental health counseling to adolescents, adults and families and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment.  That experience was harnessed to create a successful private  counseling and hypnotherapy practice which has been going strong for 15 years.

After nearly 25 years of working in the field of mental health along with over 20 years of utilizing traditional talk therapy and hypnosis, adding up to thousands of hours of clinical experience, I have fully developed the skills and knowledge of a highly effective therapist. I have transitioned from conventional treatment to an alternative to mental health counseling that is an intuitive, spiritual and holistic approach to obtaining emotional well-being.

I provide compassionate, respectful and confidential, short-term, spiritual and intuitive counseling in a private office setting. My style of counseling has a strong emphasis on spirituality. I also offer hypnotherapy, mindfulness training and teach meditation.  I work one-on-one with adults and older teens, helping them to work through personal obstacles and achieve greater emotional freedom and an improved quality of life.

I have the passion to assist each client with achieving any goal, whether it’s kicking a self-destructive habit, tending to grief and loss, overcoming negative patterns of thought or reaching their full potential. I believe strongly in treating the whole person, balancing mind, body and spirit.

Appointments – Sessions can take place in person, over the phone, or via secure video.

All in-person services are provided in a relaxing and peaceful office setting. My private practice is located at the Woodville Chiropractic – Natural Health Center.

For those who do not wish to come in to the office, all sessions are offered over the phone and online. A HIPAA compliant secure online video platform (doxy.me) is used.

For telephone sessions any type of phone will work. The requirements for online services are a strong internet connection, and a device such as a smartphone, laptop or desktop computer with a webcam; or an iPad/tablet.

A private, quiet space where you will not be distracted, interrupted by others or overheard is recommended for remote sessions.

Office hours are by appointment only. To schedule an appointment or to get more information, you can call the office or send a text message or an email.
